Why become an Institute Registered Insurance Broker?

The Institute of Insurance brokers (IIB) offers insurance broking businesses a unique combination of individual support and representation that has made a significant difference to the profession over more than 20 years. Many of the worst excesses proposed by regulators and government have been "tamed" following representations by the Institute and it continues to act on behalf of insurance brokers.

As part of its focus on the needs of individual insurance professionals, it launched the Institute Registered Insurance Broker (iRiB) programme in 2002. This provides members with a range of services including:

  • Regular articles – covering management, regulatory and technical issues
  • CPD log – automatically updated when technical articles read
  • Details of courses throughout the UK on a range of topics at various levels
  • On-line self test facility
  • News updates on key regulatory and compliance issues
  • News updates on management and economic issues

iRiB status is available to individual insurance brokers, rather than firms, and costs as little as £70 a year. Please click here to download the application form.
